Indubitable

When you declare the answer before the question is done,

When an ace spikes the ball and knows he has won,

When the gulaal finally leaves your tattered Holi shirt,

When a writer knows the perfect words,

When a veteran surgeon makes a routine incision,

When a baker powers through with a tried-and-tested improvisation,

When you wake from a deep slumber at the exact moment the alarm goes off,

When you sense, more than smell, the peti with the ripened aam,

When a parent announces complete trust and realises they mean it

When you return, tired, to your apartment,

rent paid in time, clean and giving a homely vibe, you know:

"Not even the Germans could ruin the sea."

The above poem is for the NaPoWriMo2021. Day 6 Prompt: A short line from your favourite book. Line taken from The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society.
